The cap would not stay on my 1997 RAV4 coolant expansion tank. After having it taped on for a couple years I tried to buy a new cap but you can only buy the whole tank which includes the cap. This one was a lot less $ than from the Toyota dealer.
The cap from the new one would have fit but I decided to change the tank anyhow. One 10mm nut and a hose clamp. No problem. New tank fits well and looks a lot cleaner. The plastic is thinner than the original Denso tank. The inside of the original cap has a black rubber hose that hangs down into the tank. The new tank has a clear hose that reminds me of aquarium tank tubing but may be stronger. Anyhow, it fits fine and the cap stays on so I'm satisfied.
