Question: Hi everyone. We are replacing the overflow tank on my 1998 vw Passat. On the bottom of the tank there are several holes. We have figured two of them out but the hole closest to the cap on the bottom side, we can not find what plugs into it or what goes there. Please help!! This car has had two people look so far. What is attached to the hole?

Hi Virginia, I'm glad to assist you. There are actually two options. This part fits for models with a VIN Number from W007800 (the last 8 characters of your VIN). The other one is up to chassis W007799. Please check with your local auto repair shop for the plug-in tube or grommet for the holes at the bottom of the reservoir. Answered by Jeonino E. / Sat, Jun 25Hey man . The hole closest and underneath the cap is just the overflow for the coolant to escape in a scenario such as overheating . Nothing plugs into it
