Question: is this to the control unit to operate the fan or is it the sending unit to the dashboard gauge?Timbo / Jul 04, 2022
Hi Timbo, thank you for reaching out. This is the sensor for the temperature gauge. This part also sends a signal to the engine control unit, which controls the fan. Kindly call our parts team at 1-866-529-0412 and provide the complete vehicle information. We'll be more than glad to help you look for the correct part.

This controls the gauge as well as other things that rely on the coolant temperature to operate like fuel priming when engine is cold. To my knowledge it doesn’t do anything with the fan, but it might. It’s possible it could do both of the things you asked.

Question: Is this the IAT FOR A 2003 Mazda 6 2.3 ?Devin / Jan 30, 2023
Hi Devin, I'm glad to assist you. No. It is incompatible. The IAT is not the coolant temperature sensor. Please provide a trouble code from your mechanic or shop who troubleshoots and diagnosed your car for us to be accurate on the part you need.
