O-Ring too large?Crankshaft Seal - Direct Fit, Sold Individually

I'm pretty sure I did not contaminate the O-ring with solvent, but it's possible. My problem was the O-Ring was too big and kept popping out of the recessed port before I could get the pump on over it. I'm pretty sure I finally got it in place without crushing or cutting it by using a lot of grease as glue. The oil pressure is happy.
