Question: The shop told me
I need to check the vin before I buy the actuator how can I do that?Miamiheatfan / Mar 07, 2021
Hi Kevonn,
There are parts in a vehicle that specific to the vehicle base on the information found in the VIN. Decoding the VIN will give you more information about the vehicle. You may also consult your local dealership parts department for more information.

The VIN number is on your insurance card and also located on the body of your vehicle at the lower left corner of your windshield. It’s been a while since I purchased my new actuator and it worked fine.

Hi Ron,
We recommend referring to a good article and video for step-by-step instructions. It may require basic automotive knowledge for proper installation, and professional installation is always recommended. Trim tools are nice for removing parts of the door, but in theory not required. Aside from that, I was able to just use screwdrivers with one exception. The screws that held the actuator into place were extremely tight. Attempting to loosen them with a Phillips screwdriver only stripped them, so I had to use a Dremel to cut a flathead slot into the screws to be able to get them to let go and loosen.

Answered by Justin R. / Thu, Mar 18I followed the instructions on a You Tube video as stated in the previous answer. I did find it a little difficult getting the old unit out but other than that no issues. I did not have any special tools just have a good set of Phillips heads.
