Question: Hi is this the part that goes under the car and catches any oil or possible coolant leaks?Nancy H. / Apr 23, 2020
Hello –
This is the rear, passenger-side portion of the splash shield. It looks like the splash shield on your car is a multi-piece assembly.
The splash shield is designed to protect the underside of the engine from water and debris. However, due to its location, it often ends up getting covered in oil and coolant if the engine is leaking.
