BMW original from FCP is about $244. they are made of much softer plastic but they fit reasonable well. no fasteners come with it. i picked up a box of 50 screws from fastener zone (Auveco SKU 22030-5869) but they are quickly oxidizing in NY. ymmv. i did add a couple screws to keep the underside in place better.

The tolerances are not exact so it’s not a clerk a look as OEM but again for price and since I seem to destroy these frequently due to low profile i would buy again. you will need to buy fasteners as they do not come — found a E39 repair video that shouted the types required.

Answered by Pdx pruner / Sun, Jan 15The price is pretty inexpensive compared to the original BMW parts. The quality is ok but much thinner than the oem. They line up ok as well but there is no hardware included, however, the hardware is inexpensive oem at FCP Euro.

Hi Dave,
The engine splash shield primarily protects the engine under portion from debris from the road either the front, side, rear or the main section. It has a molded design, contoured following the shape and form of the engine underbody. It also has cut outs for vents to dissipate heat from the engine as well, not necessarily the brakes.
