Part came quickly. YouTube videos helped with installation. The anchor piece that gets screwed into the car didn't fit (it was designed for the screw straight-on, vs the OEM one at a significant angle), but I was able to re-use the existing anchor. Handle seems sturdy, was a very easy fix. Minus one star because had I need a new anchor piece, the one provided wouldn't have fit.

My item was easy to order on website. It fit as expected. was easy to install after watching a UTube video. it for my particular car, i wish it came with a spare bolt, i case I needed it, which I did. but nevertheless, item was great! The item comes unpainted- we just put on as is, as it is unimportant for the age of the car.

Question: i have a similar question to others on here about the exterior handles, my 2012 4Runner has chrome handles but they appear to be two tone, don't want to replace them with all chrome. the inside of my current ones look to be a satin type finish. Can only the outer plate be replaced instead of replacing the entire handle? That is the part that is cracking.shane K. / Aug 16, 2021
Hi Shane, I'm happy to help you out. You need to replace the whole door handle if it is already worn out. There isn't any way to replace just the outer part. This item is all chrome finish. So I bought handles for the same 4Runner model from carparts.com and only just got round to fitting them as the top front edge was cracking (a common issue). The handle is 1 peice unfortunately. However, the parts I got are not dimensionally identical and have not been able to fit them. As I purchased them a while ago, my returns period is out of time. So as the cracking wasn't noticeable on the originals if you turn them upside down, I did just that and swapped rear door handlnes around! Simples...

replace the whole handle.. the new ones are not an exact fit.. I had to widen the holes where the handle sits on the two inside pegs.. Door handle will not close completely if you don't..... had to do that to all 4 doors
