Question: My 1997 4.0 runs very cold! Never gets above one hundred and thirty degrees. I have put two new thermostats in it. A new radiator, old one was cracked and leaking. If I completely cover the radiator with cardboard and drive ten miles at up to seventy miles per hour. Engine will get to one hundred and ninety degrees?Peter S. / Nov 26, 2021
Hi Peter, I'm glad to assist you. Replacing the cooling fan assembly would efficiently help in maintaining the operational temperature, especially, you have already replaced most of the major parts of the cooling system of your engine. We do have a vehicle-specific service repair manual that you could check details for troubleshooting the problem on your truck. The part number is C1026688, by Chilton. Grab our sale price offer and click the links below to order these 2 parts today. I hope this helps. Happy shopping.

What temperature thermostat did you put in, should be about 180* stat, if you did then your thermo clutch might be locked up and cooling to much, does it sound like your fan is turning hard or loud blower air, if so change the clutch on the fan,
