Yes the electric fan has its own shroud that is part of the fan assembly. The mechanical fan has a shroud you purchase separately

Only the mechanical (belt driven) fan has a desperate shroud. The electric fan is a shroud encased unit.

Yes, the top one was easy to replace, I didn't do the lower schroud.

I did not have one when I bought my XJ. But I have had no problems with it and I feel it is plenty strong enough. I have never bent or bend it while under the hood

Not sure if this fan shroud is as thick as the original or not. The original fan shroud was missing. Sorry I couldn't help. Seems like the manufacturer would know

To be honest the shroud was missing when I got the Jeep. It seems good though.

The fan shroud pictured is for the mechanical fan on the pass side. The driver side gets the electric fan that mts completely different. So I say no because of the radiator configuration

No I don’t believe it will. The belt driven fan shroud is a different part then the electric fan shroud on my 96 xj.

This shroud will only work with a single fan.

If this is the standard set up for the 4.0 with a fan w/clutch on right (Pass) half and electric fan on left (Driver) half of radiator it appears to be correct.
