Good fit. Looks nice. Prep with new plugs ready for a quick 20 min install.Front, Passenger Side Fender Liner, Coupe
5.0/5
First as always, quick shipment, best price & quality service from Carparts. Some holes were a bit askew from the holes in the metal frame, but this is expected as the plastic/nylon shield (liner) is cold and folded during shipping and may need some slight stretching and tugging to work the warps out. After install, everything was pulled into line and it fit perfect. For me, there was no one nylon retainer plug which worked consistently best in ALL the holes so prep install by getting a variety of plugs before install. I think 8 to 9.5mm plugs worked more consistently. And definitely don't use old used plugs. Beware, if ever serviced, mechanics are notorious for not replacing plugs, which can lead to your shield tearing off during driving (as what happened to me). Keep an ample supply of nylon plugs for such occasions, and inspect the holes for missing plugs or screws (to the rear ) if any repairs done requiring removal of the wheel well liner or front splash guard. Nearly 10 holes or so, so I'd invest in a plug puller of some quality to speed up the work. I used both a plug puller and my go-to thrift shop meat fork (two long tines). Shield went on with some warping until all plugs and screws were in, then it fit perfectly, so seems best to start in the middle, then adjust as you move around both sides. Make sure you retain the 2" rubber splash flap off of the original (OEM) which connects to and under the shield near the front of the well, as this doesn't come with, as shown not-included in photos. Note all the holes of the original and car body or what appears to be the holes for attachment, as you may need to drill through the new shield to create additional holes to match those in the car body. A couple of holes were needed for mine and a "retaining" spot was in the mold at each place needed. Also, the liner connects to the front bumper at one point by screw and retaining clip. Look for and retain the retaining clip and screw when removing old liner. As you remove the old guard, if possible, review whether the shield goes over or under another shield as some places share the same hole. If not known, wheel liners should go under the front splash shield for better air flow and to prevent water from blowing up under sheilds. Look under car and review if needed the removal of part of the driver's side of the front splash shield. After removing wheel, this was a comfortable, sit down task. Took about 20 minutes after prep and wheel removal. Tools used: plug puller - meat fork - car jack et al. - tire iron or lug socket -- drill and bits for screw and drilling holes - small philips screwdriver (screw and helping to line holes up - scissors for trimming minor areas and creating plastic "washer" if needed - brush, cloth for removing some debris before install - assorted nylon retainer plugs -- small hammer for tapping in plugs
