Plastic with chrome finish. It’s not cheap plastic; has some rigidity to it. However, my reason for replacing it was the prongs or tabs holding it in place (where the screws hold the part to the car) broke, so use special care so as not to snap these off; obviously, if you do it won’t tighten up.
