Question: What does that do ?Dave B. / Oct 26, 2020
Hi Dave, The fuel rail pressure sensors monitor fuel while it works its way through fuel rails to make sure that it’s able to maintain the right pressure based on the needs of your engine and the temperatures in your car. It keeps a close eye on the pressure of the fuel in fuel rails and stay in constant communication with engine control units while providing them with the information that they need to determine how much fuel to send through fuel injectors. (this is an excerpt information from one of our technical resource.)

It helps regulate the fuel pressure . If you try to put gas in gas tank and it spills back out or you get poor gas mileage then this might be part of the problem. All the above was happening to my suv so i purchased a new charcoal canister and both regulators / switches on the canister .It sits on the charcoal canister under the vehicle by the fuel tank....

Question: What does this part do or control?James B. / Aug 13, 2023
Hi James, Glad to assist you. The fuel tank pressure sensor (as of the OEM part number) is part of the fuel pump assembly and is mounted on top of the tank or inside the tank. It's part of the evaporative emissions system (commonly referred to as “EVAP”) and reads pressure in the fuel system to detect evaporative leaks, such as a loose or faulty gas cap.
