Hi A T, I'm glad to assist you. This fuel pump is not designed for a flex fuel engine. There are 2 part number that would match with your ford Explorer with flex fuel fitnote. The part numbers are MIPFS418 and MIPFS419 by motorcraft brand. The 1st one requires with production date from 3/01/04 onwards. The 2nd part number requires production date before 3/1/04. Once confirmed on your end, please click the 1st link if your production date is beyond the given date. Or click the 2nd link below if your vehicle's production date is before that given date. Hi Perfecto, This comes with a built in strainer filter at the bottom portion. You have to order the main in-line fuel filter which is located on the engine. The part number for your vehicle is MIFG1083 by motorcraft, the original factory OEM brand. Please click the link below to see it.
