Actually in a MB there is a pump on the passenger side and then there is an electrical module unit on the driver's side. Try to make sure the gas tank is low as it will make it a cleaner job. You will need a special tool to remove the cap - a fuel tank moduel spanner. But it is only about 15.00. A cheap one is fine. Be sure to unhook your battery and use brass or plastic tools if possible - so no sparks! This fuel pump works well in a MB. Everything fits fine. Use the old gasket though probably. Takes about 30 min. If you are changing the fuel filter also, that is about 30-45 min as well.
