My fuel pump was still working, but with an 08 vehicle with over 202K miles I thought I'd better replace it, plus my fuel guage was losing accuracy. I'm an Auto Tech so the install went well and the guage looks good. I chose this pump for the great price, and knowing that Carparts wouldn't sell junk. The engine fired right up with no extended cranking time which means immediate fuel pressure which is the whole idea.

Generally, fuel pumps have an integrated strainer or filter to prevent debris from entering the pump, but this is not the same as a replaceable fuel filter found in the fuel line.
