Question: what is the sending unit and do i need it to make it work?kevin w. / Dec 24, 2020
Hi Kevin,
The fuel sending unit is used to measure the amount of fuel in the fuel tank and communicate the fuel level to the fuel gauge on the vehicle dashboard. The gauge has four electrical points. It has one terminal for battery positive, a ground, illumination, and the signal, which is the wire to the sending unit. The ground on the gauge must be good for the gauge to work right. Whenever possible, the ground should be attached to the frame.

Answered by Grace G. / Thu, Dec 24If you are going to use in a KIA it doesn’t have sending unit it is a manual float system. All you get is the pump. There is no way to connect the manual float to this pump.

Answered by Richard / Sat, Dec 26The field pump is to move the fuel. The sender unit is the fuel level sensor. Just swap old sender to new pump unit and your good.
