Question: Does this come with a fuel filter already in it? Or do I need to buy a separate one?Katie S. / Aug 19, 2022
Hi Katie, I'm happy to help you. This fuel pump includes a strainer, a type of internal filter, as part of the fuel sending unit. The fuel filter is distinct from the fuel pump and is offered for sale separately. While supplies last, get this pump at 50% off the standard price by clicking the link below. Question: I have a 2006 Volkwagen Passat 3.6.  It says that the fuel pump "fits perfectly"; however, it does NOT fit.  I should be able to separate the pump to install it, but a snap ring prevents me from separating it.  If I remove the snap ring, then I cannot re-attach the snap ring.  Should I remove the snap and leave it off?  It does not sound logical to have the pump separated in the tank.   Part no.: RV31450001 Fuel Pump - with Fuel Sending Unit, Drive Type: Front Wheel Drive For your 2006 Volkswagen PassatRon S. / Apr 05, 2022
Hello! You should be able to install it as an assembly, without removing a snap ring.

Hey Ronald! I’d love to help as I bought this part for my 2.0t passat a few years ago. I remember having to really work to get the pump into place to get a snug fit. I believe you do have to remove the snap ring and then reattach it after installation. Which part exactly are you referring to as the snap ring?
