Hi Tim, I'm pleased to assist you. Yes, the unit can get plugged in. There is a strainer at the bottom of the fuel pump, designed to trap dirt and debris before they enter the fuel pump. Over time, the strainer can become clogged. This can cause sluggish performance, hesitation, and other problems. If the strainer is clogged, you can clean it or replace it.
