Hi Emmanuel, thank you for reaching out. Yes. HID (high-intensity discharge) bulbs are very bright at night compared to halogen bulbs. However, the brightness also depends on the wattage and color temperature. An HID bulb is not interchangeable with a halogen bulb. Hi Tony, I'll be glad to assist you. The differences between the D1S and D5S bulbs are as follows: The D1S uses 85 volts. The D5S uses 12 volts. The D1S uses alternating current (ac). The D5S uses direct current (dc). The D1S uses a separate ballast. The D5S has a built-in ballast. Kindly call our parts team at 1-866-529-0412 and provide the complete vehicle information.
