Some Models Require a Mod To WorkDriver And Passenger Side Halogen Headlight, With Bulb(S), Oe Replacement

First. Carparts.com is a great seller, I had one of a set pair damaged in shipping, they shipped me a replacement fast.
The assemblies do not fit deeply enough in some models to completely engage the plugs female recepticle with the light assembly plug receptical male pins, when a stock VW assembly bracket it used. The assembly MUST fit all the way up onto the plug and squeeze the water seal, or it wont work.
The mod is pretty simple, remove the assembly bracket, take the plug out and clip the bracket where the plug can go deeper into the assembly fixture. Install the brracket and the assembly unplugged, then plug the wire loom in from the back side. Its tight but dooable, DS you will have to take the battery out. It, the bracket mod adds a couple of hours to what should be a 30 minute RnR. So, I give Carparts.com 5 stars and the OEM, DEVO, 3 stars. Once installed, the lights are great.

The fit was and is still difficult
It will not remain in the receptacle.
The inner attachment had to be purchased but it still does not hold the bulb in place.

The passenger side headlight for my 2007 VW was perfect. Delivery was fast, the packaging was great as was the form fit and function. It installed easily and now matches the driver's side which I replaced a year or so ago. Now I can see all the road at night and feel a lot safer.

Answered by Andrew B. / Sun, Aug 13Question: I have 1 2010 Beetle Convertible. We installed the driver and passenger side headlights without much issue. When we tested the lights, neither light worked. Blinkers and stop lights worked fine but neither headlight would illuminate. We checked the connection at the electrical plugs and they look like they are coupled into the vehicle's receiver. My next step is to remove one light and compare the new light's electrical connector pins to the original to confirm the connector pins match the original. Any other suggestions to resolve this issue before I return these lights?Robert R. / Jan 10, 2022
Hello! The first thing I would do is confirm that there are actually bulbs installed in these assemblies. If your old bulbs are good, you can try swapping them in to see if they work, otherwise, I agree with your idea of making sure the connector pins are in the correct location and not bent etc.
