Hi-Larry Current new vehicles today, it's headlight lenses are made of plastic polycarbonate. These lenses are light, impact resistant, and allow for greater freedom in design. The plastic lens is covered with a spray that makes the lens scratchproof—a newer regulation instituted for safety reasons. The issue with using plastic polycarbonate as lens material is that the lens will gradually opaque from sunlight exposure over time. Still, it would be years before that would happen depending on the how frequently the car is left outdoors for a long period. One tip is, if you are parking outdoors, you can cover the headlight lenses with a customized thick material cloth or whatever appropriate with UV protection that can be locked in place by the hood with a strap. or a car cover if at home outdoors.

I honestly can't answer that question because I have bought this head light only 3 months ago. But I can tell you that the quality of this after market head light is excellent, and I did switch the bulb with LEDs to prolong the look and style of the headlight. As you know the LEDs run cooler than the incandescent bulbs.

It is not made of glass, so it is reasonable to assume that it will deteriorate over time. I tried several systems to "restore" the clear finish to the headlamps, but none worked very well. These headlamps were not difficult to install, but I had to take the truck to a shop to aim the headlamps.

I don't really know. Mine hasn't yet and I've had them for a few months.

I had a generally good experience except that after a short period of time, the small running light in the headlight assembly stopped working. Hope you have a better experience with your headlight. I did find the headlight to fit well and looked like original equipment.
