Question: Well I can’t open the hood on my 2006 Ram 1500 . I need to get it open to see which part I need to replace. The hood pops but it will not lift . It looks like the part that goes around the hood latch bar when you close the hood will not completely come off the rod. I can not see what the part looks like on the actual hood that comes down and hooks on to the rod?Tresa C. / Mar 28, 2022

Answered by Grace G. / Mon, Mar 28As I remember, I bought the part so I could see what to look for when I got the hood partially up. I could find it & roughly how it operates. Then pop the hood as far as will go, locate the part & manually release the locking mechanism. As I remember, the hard part was after installing new part it needs an adjustment to work properly. So, you have to remember how you adjusted it, so if doesn't work, open the hood manually as before & try different adjustments until it opens the hood properly. That's what I had to do to get it working.

Answered by William R. / Tue, Mar 29What your going to have to do is unbolt the part it slams down on right by top of radiator. Two bolts. I had to do the same thing as mine ceased up. A crescent wrench fits in there even a socket will. Hope that helps
