Question: After installing and connecting the hood latch sensor to the security system, alarm won't arm when the hood is closed. It will arm if the hood is open. How do I get the alarm to recognize the hood as closed?Alex H. / Sep 16, 2021
Hi A Ha, I'm glad to assist you. This one you ordered is without theft deterrent, as shown on the notes of this part. The one you need is with theft deterrent. Unfortunately, we do not carry that kind hood latch. Please call our sales hotline and ask to be transferred to our returns department. Question: The secondary release lever seems too short to reach under the hood.  The old one is much longer and is difficult to reach.  Is this correct?JEFFREY G. / Jun 20, 2022

I installed this on a 2009 Honda Fit Sport and it works mechanically just fine. I had to swap it out with one from the dealership but that was only because the carparts latch won't work with an alarm system (as is indicated by without theft deterrent.)
