Enedin, I purchased this latch in June 2021, it installs in less than 20 minutes. You'll need a 10 MM deep socket and a ratchet preferably a 1/4 in drive or a 10MM wrench. Simply unplug the alarm harness, remove the 3 bolts, install the new latch in the EXACT place you removed the old and plug the alarm harness connector. Slowly lower the hood and look and make sure the hook on the underside of the hood aligns with the new latch, if it does close the hook and check the release to make sure it opens. And it did fix the alarm also.

Unplug the alarm harness, remove the 3 bolts, place the new latch EXACTLY where the old one was, reinstall the 3 bolts, plug the harness back together. Lower the hood slowly and look to make sure the hook on the underside of the hood aligns with the new latch, if so close the hood. And it did fix the problem with the alarm.
