IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER ....GREAT BUY!Ignition Lock Cylinder, Chrome, With Keys, Ignition Switch Mounting Location
5.0/5
Hi, I was having issues with my ignition switch for over a year, and then in the last 2 months it got really bad, where I just had to fuss and fuss with the steering wheel and kept trying different keys to the same ignition. I meant it lasted about 30 years. So, I can't really complain. Finally, I went to the car service repair place that I've gone to for many years with my 1996 Toyota 4 Runner. They quoted me 135.00 labor to replace the lock cyclinder, which I thought was really reasonable. I then asked for a price on the lock cylinder itself, and they looked it up right there on their computer and said it was 150.00. I had already seen the one on Carparts the same morning, so I told them I would provide the part. Am I happy with the price I got from CARPARTS? Saved about 125.00 at least just on this part. Starts like a brand-new 4 Runner. I also want to add that I kept receiving updates regularly on the shipping, which was really helpful when it came to scheduling my service at the repair shop. Thank you... Carparts. com

Question: How hard is it to replace?John D / Nov 16, 2020
Hi John, Ignition cylinder replacement will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. This timeframe will shift depending on the exact make and model of a car and the experience and availability of the tools to do the job. It may require basic automotive knowledge for proper installation and professional installation is always recommended.

Question: I have a 1986 Chevrolet Silverado c10, was wondering if the key that comes with the cylinder is pre cut and I don’t need to have it cut?Austin G. / May 10, 2025
Hi Austin, I am pleased to assist you. Yes, this ignition lock cylinder (ARBB503902) comes with pre-cut keys that are matched to the new cylinder's tumblers, meaning they are ready to use with the new cylinder. The new ignition keys will not match your existing door locks unless those are also replaced or rekeyed. You'll use two keys, one for the ignition and one for the doors. If you are considering this part, it should work perfectly for your 1986 Chevrolet C10 Silverado. You can use the link below to order while the part is in stock. I hope this helps.
