Overall incredibly happy with my purchases.Ignition Lock Cylinder - With Keys
5.0/5
Works perfectly and at what I thought was a reasonable price. I accidentally ordered the wrong taillights as well and they were incredibly understandable and quick about my refund. Have ordered a couple items through this site and they have always showed up.

I used this key and cylinder as a replacement on my Buick but I also had to bypass the vatts system with a couple of resistors. There is a video on YouTube that shows you how to measure the resistance on your original key and wire in the resistors. I used wire nuts instead of soldering. Easy and cheap fix.

Question: I have replAced the ignition switch, came with 2 keys. key turns but won't start. believe the car doesn't recognize the chip, I am assuming the chip is in the top part of the key, not like the original key. is there anything that I may need to do to get the key programed to be recognized for the car to start?Kimberly J. / Oct 02, 2021
Hi Kimberly, I'm sorry to hear you're having problems getting your car started. What is the year and model of your Buick? And does your car's original key have the resistor pellet built into the shank of the key?

I had to bypass the vats (security) system on my Buick for the car to start. There was a YouTube video on how to do it. I didn't solder anything. Just twisted the resistors together with electrical nuts. Hope this works on your brand of car cuz it's a really cheap fix. Best of luck 🤞

You have to take them to the dealership and have them put the chip (resistor) on the keys that were with the ignition lock
