Hi A, thanks for initiating contact. Do you mean to say you already have an old instrument panel cap installed over your instrument panel, or is this the only time you will install an instrument cap? This part is an overlay, not a replacement part. If this is the first time to use it, there is no need to remove anything. This cap should fit snugly over the entire instrument panel. First, clean your existing panel and the underside of your new instrument panel cover (cap). Practice putting it in place with tape. Apply the silicone adhesive provided in your kit to the underside of the cover (cap) around the edges and vent holes.
