Yes, you will have to take off the door panel. How to Replace an Inside Car Door Handle 1)Remove the inside door panel from the car door. 2) Unhook the old door handle from the long handle wires in the door. 3) Unscrew the door handle from the car door with a Phillips screwdriver. 4) Set the new car door handle in place. 5) Connect the door handle to the door handle wires in the door. You can also watch step by step instructions on YouTube.

Answered by Grace G. / Thu, Nov 19No need to take off the panel, you only need to unscrew 1 screw at the circle hole to remove the old handle and put the new one in. The door has a metal string attached to the handle for locking and unlocking, so make sure to put it back in correctly. Check the correct model, the driver side or passenger side, and the color matched the old one before buying. I bought the wrong color. The installation is under 5 mins.
