Answered by Grace G. / Thu, Mar 17I just installed one. Used 5/16 drill bit. I measured it by removing the push rod, squeezed the expandable end and inserted it into a drill hole gauge. 5/16 was the smallest hole it fit into. You can drill a larger hole if that is not large enough. After drilling, insert the piece through the bracket then into the drilled hole. Reinsert the push rod and tap it flush.
