Comes with screws, four stars because there are no instructions. I used Youtube videos. The female part has a little wire that you have to take out before clipping it into the ball, that took me a while to figure out. Ordered both sides, they came in two separate packages and were not exactly the same but it worked just fine. Make sure you have the right side. I have little experience with cars and I managed so very easy to DIY.

So, when you remove the original part and there is nothing remaining on the hatch jamb except a threaded hole, the replacement part will have everything needed to mount it. In my factory part the ball and socket cannot be separated. In the replacement part, the ball and socket can be separated as shown in the picture. A removable metal clip holds the ball and socket together in the replacement part so installation is very easy.
