The trunk on my 2013 VW Jetta had been broken for the past three years after a plastic bag got stuck in the hydraulic bar and the lid would never stay up on it's own. I always thought it would be expensive to fix so I avoided it. When I did finally start looking for a replacement piece I checked places like Auto Zone which had prices starting at $40 and going up to $100 and more. I found this gem on CarParts.com for $8! I figured, why not give it a try? My dad and I installed it pretty quick and it looks identical to the original part. Works great and you can't find a better price anywhere else.
