Question: 2007 ford expedition lift gate supports won't move. Bought new ones and they will not compress or decompress. Is there something I need to do to unlock them?Monty M. / Jan 01, 2021

As per checking, this is a guaranteed fit for your 2007 Ford Expedition XLT 8 Cyl 5.4L. The new ones you purchased somewhere might not be the one's designed for your vehicle. But, this pair we have is a direct fit vehicle specific for your SUV only. There is no other function button or any procedure to do to make it work.

Hi Dave,
Based on the OEM factory original part number(7L1Z78406A10B), this pair of lift support is not stating anything about a powered liftgate(with motor assist). Most likely this would fit only the manual type, not powered. You can call your local dealership for the OEM part number of your liftgate support and if it matches with the one i have mentioned above, this would be compatible.
