Had it installed today by a mechanic unfortunately it’s still not fixed but I believe the issue may be the linkage instead. Unsure at the moment until I start to self diagnose.

Question: how open read latch to remove old latch and replace? Current latch plastic jaw fractured, and door won't open.Gregory G. / May 17, 2021

Took me about 40 minutes. Have to remove tailgate interior moldings to be able to remove the actual tailgate panel itself. Then it's pretty easy, un bolt oand un plug old actuator, . Reverse steps and yours done
