Nothing - there is a circular plastic mounting clip-in device attached to the back of the mirror. That piece (on the mirror) “clips-in” the its matching female receiver inside the housing of the mirror. Remember, the mirror is remotely controlled by the switch on your driver door so be careful it lines-up and “clicks” in. You can push too hard and break the tabs that fit into the slots (that create the “click” sound when installing. That being said, you can also not push hard enough and at the next jarring pothole it will fall out. It does seem once this mirror breaks and comes out of its mount each time you push it back in it’s not quite as snug. Meaning get it right the first time. I’ve replaced mine 3 times. Once a car hit the back of the mirror housing, next 2 times I broke a tab pushing too hard, then not hard enough and it fell out when a passenger slammed the door shut. So I’m on my 4th mirror now. It’s held for over a year now :0)

Do you see the faint writing on the glass at the bottom of the mirror? If you do, it reads “objects are closer then they appear” and that’s because of curved glass that gives you a wider view otherwise known as Convex. * if no writing - it’s flat. Flat is Not recommend for the passenger side; very dangerous with its limited field of view.
