The color is black but it didn't match exactly. What I did was remove the cap from my broken mirror and added it to this one and it was then a perfect match.

Says it is heated, i really don't know if that works or not, but definitely is not dimming. Also, does not return to the same spot each time the way the original mirror did when using the backup assist mode where the mirror rotates down to let you see the curb and the ground.
