No. Unless you cut it off. I hit a mailbox and destroyed the mirror. Fortunately, the painted piece was not damaged. I removed the broken glass and came at it from the mirror side to salvage the painted piece without destroying it. The new one was black. I had to cut the black piece carefully with a hacksaw and create a window that would allow me to get at the locking tabs. I was able carefully separate the cut up black piece from the feast of the assembly. Then, I just snapped in the painted piece from the original, damaged mirror. If you’re not comfortable with this, you will have to paint the black piece in place.
