No, the mirror does not detach from the housing. The entire assembly is designed to fit perfectly. Easiest install ever.

The way the mirror is assembly, do not consider removal. There is a glue tape that holding the mirror in place.

Yes this part will still fit and work for you, if yours don’t have all the bells and whistles this still plugs in and most of the functions will work for you. The folding part won’t or the heated I think but the rest does work

I ordered and had first one replaced due to folding function failing. 2nd one started ok but mow having issues with it as well. Everything else works fine but folding is an issue
