The mirror has a small hole on the back, which faces the front of the vehicle. It makes a low pitch noise while driving over 50 MPH or in a windy ride. The mirror has to be calibrated in order to move it to the desired angle.

Yes, it's plastic and paintable. Not sure if you need an adhesion promoter. From what I know this is plug and play for easy replacement.

Answered by Grace G. / Tue, Dec 08Yes, the exterior is plastic. My son works at a body shop and had it painted so I'm not sure how it was done. But the replacement was easy, just watch the clips on the inside of the door.
