Hi Mark, I'm glad to help you out. This part is guaranteed to fit the 2017 Hyundai Elantra all submodels, all engines USA Built Vehicle. Yes, there is a difference between Japan and USA-built vehicles. Look at the first digit of the VIN, if it's a 1,4, or 5, then it indicates that the car was built in the USA, J means Japan. Upon checking, we currently do not have in stock the direct-fit driver's side for Japan-made vehicles. I hope this helps. You may also need the trim panel remover to add to your garage and/or home tools. The mirror fits perfectly and it’s exactly the same as the one that came from the manufacturer. I would but definitely buy it again. You just have to paint the back or if the back of your mirror is intact use the back of the old one:)

Hello Sandy,
This is only primed finish. We don't do painting on our body parts and only ship them primed. We suggest having it painted locally so they can correctly match the shade of your paint.
