Yes, it is detachable. It snaps off so you can have it painted the same color shade as the vehicle.

Hi Alisha,
You have to use a thin silicone rubber spatula to pry of the small edge opening carefully to detach it from its locked position or consult your trusted local automotive repair shop to give details of removal.
