This mirror was a very economical replacement for our driver side mirror on our 2015 Prius V that got clipped by a motorist who approached from behind (and kept on going). The painted rear shroud was not damaged and it snapped right into place on the replacement mirror assembly. Took off one star because the actual glass mirror measures 1/4" less in overall width and height than the original, which means slightly less visibility. This hit and run event has us considering getting a dashboard camera.

Mirror is fine and fits the car but the mirror folds backwards. In other words it folds outwards with the mirror facing the street rather than inwards against the window. I don’t know whether it’s a defect, but I guess we won’t be folding this mirror.

The mirror was a perfect fit and easy to obtain. Make sure you call a parts consultant and give them your VIN# for a proper fitting part, that will save you the problem having to return a part that does not fit your vehicle.

Yes, there are a couple of snap-fit plastic connectors on the inside of the mirror that can be released with a couple of butter knives or some other thin, flat object. If I remember correctly, you need to remove the mirror and a couple of screws to get to the cover, but it's not hard. If you search for gen3 prius mirror disassembly, there are some videos on the topic.

Yes. This mirror has a detacheable cover that can be color matched. This might be expensive if you work with a body shop and they need to color match it. The cover is a neutral black to match the remaining trim on the mirror and your vehicle.
