The mirror fits into the space perfectly but the electrical connection is the wrong type and I cannot get the piece to plug in. I am currently using the mirror without the power options.

This part was for a 2002 Toyota Camry XLE made in Japan. I received a USA made for a 2002 Toyota Camry XLE Driver's side mirror made in the USA. Time wasted. :( It didn't fit. I had to send it back for a refund and go through a dealership.

Hi Elizabeth, I'm glad to assist you. We do not have a specific step guide for a DIY install. But, generally, it is moderately easy. You have to remove, unscrew first the interior door handle. Then, Pry out the door window switch carefully to detach it from the door panel. Remove socket connector. Then carefully pry off the edges of the door panel trim with a thin edge fiber mallet to release the pins. Remove thew door panel. Detach the plastic insulation of the door and remove the wiring socket connector for the mirror. Replace the mirror and do the same reverse procedure to install the removed parts carefully.
