The repair went fairly smooth and it fit well. It was very difficult to get the decrative cover on, thus the 4 stars, but it works and looks good.

Answered by Grace G. / Mon, Jun 21You will need several other tools to replace the mirror (at least in the 2015 Passat Model). In order to get to the mirror, you actually have to remove the door panel*, which is a pain in the butt. However, getting this done at a shop would have cost me $500, so it is worth it.
I used an OEM door panel removal tool, a phillips head screwdriver, and a long, skinny, flathead screwdriver.

Answered by Hunter D. / Tue, Jun 22Everything is included, but be aware that you need a 12 point bit for the screw that holds the mirror. At least, this is the case with a Passat SE 2012. Hope this helps.

Answered by Andrew B. / Thu, Feb 23I’m guessing the plug will fit it just won’t have the wire for the heat. It is possible to install this yourself but I took it to my mechanic. It was worth the $196 I paid (I didn’t paint it)
