I have a 99 jimmy. the switch is on the side of the trans - if you follow the shift cable (from the rear of the truck) to where it connects to the trans , you should see the switch, hope that helps

Question: How to bypass switch?A Shopper / Oct 23, 2020
Hi, To bypass a neutral safety switch on a Ford. Locate the neutral safety switch. Use your 1/4-inch open-end wrench, turning counterclockwise to loosen the lock nut. Use your crescent wrench to turn the adjustment screw clockwise until it is well clear of the clutch pedal. We also recommend referring to a good repair manual for step by step instructions. It may require basic automotive knowledge for proper installation and professional installation is always recommended. You can find more information here: https://www.carparts.com/blog/why-you-should-always-consult-a-repair-manual/

Neutral safety shouldn’t he anything to do with 4wd you may just need to replace the switch panel for it but i would have the truck scanned and diagnosed

Have only replaced neutral safety switch on 2wheel drive. Wouldn't think that it would effect it though.
