Question: Hello, I have the 5.3 engine and like using this longer filter? I like the fact that filling up the filter with oil before reinstalling too. Would this OK doing both with this motor? Thank you Dan SchurbaDan S. / Feb 04, 2025

Pre-filling the filter with fresh oil before installation is a good practice, especially for a vertically mounted filter like in most 5.3L GM engines. It reduces dry starts by ensuring the engine has oil pressure immediately after startup.
