Changing the filter just because you change the sending unit isn't a requirement, however if it's time to change it anyway you can while you're dirty.

Question: Is an oil pressure sensor and an oil pressure switch the same part?Rickey S. / Dec 09, 2022
Hi Rickey, I'm glad to assist you. Yes. It is the same. The trouble code P0523/P0520/P0522/P0521 covers the problem with the oil pressure switch or sensor on different vehicle applications. To carefully check and be accurate on the part you need, please provide the complete information of your vehicle (year, make, model, submodel, and engine size). The VIN would be much helpful. I hope this helps.
