Hi Mechanda,
It circulates the fluid under pressure, enabling the hydraulic piston in the steering gear to move, greatly reducing the effort needed to turn the steering wheel.

Answered by Arnel E. / Tue, Dec 01If your steering wheel is hard to turn, if you notice it steering constantly veers off, or there's a lot of play before you wheels turn where you want; it's recommended you replace the power steering pump and belt.

Answered by Kevin R. / Tue, Dec 01Apples pressure to fluid to assist through cylindrical fluid arms to allow easier steering. In my case it was not problem. Old (14year) fluid line rusted through!
