Question: What do this part do on a car?Mechanda B. / Dec 01, 2020
Hi Mechanda, It circulates the fluid under pressure, enabling the hydraulic piston in the steering gear to move, greatly reducing the effort needed to turn the steering wheel.

If your steering wheel is hard to turn, if you notice it steering constantly veers off, or there's a lot of play before you wheels turn where you want; it's recommended you replace the power steering pump and belt.

Apples pressure to fluid to assist through cylindrical fluid arms to allow easier steering. In my case it was not problem. Old (14year) fluid line rusted through!
