Question: What are the effects of a bad sensor. .2007 ford escape speed sensor?A Shopper / Oct 02, 2020
Hi, The effect of a failing or bad speed senor is; Erratic speedometer readings, Inability to engage cruise control, Lack of torque converter clutch application, Check Engine Light is triggered. Vehicle speed information relayed by the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is used by the transmission control module (TCM) or powertrain control module (PCM) to determine shift timing. Therefore, a failing speed sensor will have a direct impact on automatic transmission operation.
