Starter Switch, Blade Type, 6-Prong Male Terminal
5.0/5
This part was just what I needed.
I took my 2004 tundra to the dealership to replace a belt and fan clutch pulley…when I had it towed there it would not start, they told me that it was grounding out because of my after market alarm system and that the starter and alternator was bad due to this. After removing my alarm system and replacing those parts I get my truck back and after driving it a couple of times it wouldn’t start so I diagnosed and researched the issue… come to find out after I bought this part and replaced it myself it starts every time I turn the key.
Thank you so much, this has made my life a lot less stressful. I will be looking to get more parts from you when I need them.

Question: Does it come with a key/keys ?UriahH / Apr 02, 2021
Hi Uriah, I'm glad to assist you. I believe you are needing a lock cylinder instead of this part. The lock cylinder is the part where you actually insert the key. You can tell me your vehicle information and I can look it up for you. I hope this helps.

It does not, it’s only a replacement for the base of the ignition column. The primary locking portion that would be paired to a key is not included.

Answered by Cole S. / Fri, Apr 02No, this is just the ignition switch. The old key will work as long as you aren't replacing the entire ignition.
AF
Answered by Amanda F. / Fri, Apr 02No this is not a keyed assembly. The switch attaches to the keyed tumbler assembly in your car

Answered by Ralph / Fri, Apr 02Question: Would I need a new key?James J. / Jan 11, 2022
Hi James, I'm happy to assist you. Not necessarily. If the original ignition lock cylinder is still in good condition, then you can still use the same key. The ignition switch is different from the ignition lock cylinder. Click this link to order the part while it's on sale: https://www.carparts.com/ignition-switch/replacement/rt50620001?can=CPAP3648

Question: How do I actually replace this part?SaraJ / Oct 04, 2023
Hi Sara, thank you for reaching out. We do not have that specific information available. Generally, you need to take off the ignition lock cylinder to reach this part as it is behind it. We suggest looking for a mechanic to replace this kind of part. You can click the link below to order the switch while stocks last. Have a good one!
